This book is definitely a page turner! I stayed up until 2 am last night to finish. :) I never did read the Twilight series, but I'm sure this is much better (as I have watched the movies). A romantic (but not overly done) suspenseful and amusing story! The main character, Kayla, says from the beginning that it's not what you expect, and she's right. It twisted in many ways that I didn't see coming! And leaves you wanting for more! The character development is fantastic, and I found myself comple [...]

With close to 150 pages and 70 chapters this book is bound to be fast-paced and intense. And it sure is! There's never a dull moment and new twists and turns awaits with very new chapter.I loved Kayla, the main character! She was such a realistic portrait of a 17-year-old. She was insecure and hopelessly in love with the most popular guy in school. She spent her days (and nights) daydreaming about him. But at first she did next to nothing to actually get to know him. Like she said herself "I sud [...]

First, I am required to post that I won this book through a promotion at the end of 2010.With that out of the way, it is important to preface this review with the fact that I am a 22-year-old male whose only previous vampire experience includes a semi-biographical tale of a certain ex-President. So to say I am not the intended audience and this book is not my usual cup-of-tea is a serious understatement. The book seems to be a typical teenage vampire novel, which in it of itself may be somewhat [...]

I have a neutral opinion of this book strong feelings on way or the other. There was nothing about This that made me fall in love; similarly, there was nothing that I hated. All of the characters, even the antagonists, are pleasant enough. They each have varying personalities and quirks that are somewhat defined but no glaring flaws to make them interesting. There was little conflict and emotion for much of the book that it felt quite bland. This is your basic "teen paranormal romance" story. It [...]

11/13 "This.: A Vampire Cure for Forever" caught me wonderfully by surprise and held me captive until I finished it. A vampire story with thought and insight! I was a little confused at first until I figured out that the main character daydreams a lot. I think it would have been helpful if her imaginings were in a different font, but maybe the author wants the reader to figure it out on their own. I highlighted a lot in this ebook; so many insightful quotes. A clean, intelligent, fun read with s [...]

Do you ever look back and recognize a certain point in time, a certain flash of remembrance and realize it was a turning point in your life? Then do you start to wonder how that certain point is going to affect your future, your forever? What would you do with forever if you actually had it? Would you want to keep forever or give it back?In Shaun Roundy’s “This”, you get to experience the thrill of youth and the prospect of immortality and “forever”. “This” is a fairly short book, [...]

6-7-11 I'm finding this book a little difficult to read. It started out well, and has it's really, really good moments, BUT there is a lot of telling and not much showing. The whole book feels a little "off" and I can't figure out exactly why. THIS far into a book I can usually hear the voice of the MC clearly and distinctly, but not THIS one. I really hope it gets better. I'm going to stick it out to the end. I'll update when I finish. (Hint, the book is not long and I've been trying to read it [...]

i found this book to be very underwhelming. i didn't feel like it was that well written and the characters weren't very intriguing. nor was the story the kind of thing i get into. also, the ebook had a few random stock photos in a few chapters that i guess were supposed to show me what the characters were seeing, but they looked bizarre and out of place and made me feel like i was reading someone's website.

I want to start by saying that I absolutely LOVE the cover! It's gorgeous! Now, this was a fast and fun read that I really enjoyed. It completely took me back to high-school days of secret crushes and discovering new friendships. Easy to read, fun characters and a different twist on vampires. If there is a follow-up book I will be sure to read it!

Finished. 2.5 stars. The first part of the book bugged me. I am wanting to write my own novels someday I've been studying up on things to avoid; I saw some things here. The second half of the novel was better and had potential to be good--I kept turning pages. I liked some ideas in this book and can recommend it to others, mostly as a learning tool in writing.

This was a pretty darn good read. However, the beginning was quite confusing until I realized, 'Oh! Daydreams!" I would suggest putting the daydream sequences in italics or indenting them as a wholemething to separate them. Good book.
