This tale of rangeland life has a feel of the 'Little House' books. The adventure consists of a young couple marrying and making a home for themselves in Utah. Catana from an orphanage marries Bo the son of a printer, and with his inheritance they buy a sheep farm and settle in to raise a family, considerate of the feelings of others. The title comes from Bo's father telling him that if offered a free meal, he must earn it by washing the dishes - anything unearned is never yours. We meet Bo Giles [...]

Never Yours by Connie Smith What attracted to me to want to read this book was the sheep. You can make yarn out of sheep and knit it.Catna who helped at the orphanage said goodbye especially to Chuck and others. She went off to marry Bo Giles and they hoped to buy Mark Greenley brothers sheep farm. They traveled there and Ben Greeley was willing to sell it to them. It was rather in disrepair but they being young, could bring it all back. Love the idea of what's in the sack from Mark that they bro [...]

I got this book from NetGalley. This novel was hard to read and confusing. The context behind the tale itself was good but how it was written made it seem stiff, boring and completely confusing. The characters when conversing seemed to be only one dimensional, as if only existing on the page, as written words. The events were spelled out and nothing was left to the imagination. There were so many different tangents within this novel that I constantly Had to go back and attempt to pick up where the [...]

Now I am not one to read books that are set in the past, that being said it was actually a pretty good story. It wasn't wow for me but it was still good. I did get pulled in and wanted to know what was coming next but the ending wasn't that great it felt like it just ended. There could have been so much more that could be added and make the story feel complete but it just ended.

This book kept me interested the whole ride, I didn't want to put it down. Though I found a few things that I would personally change, it was a good book and the lesson in the end is one we all should learn.
