      I love this book. I stumbled across a copy in a used bookstore and read it cover to cover. The author was an early advocate for the native flora of California and wrote about her collecting trips around the state in the early 20th century. I must point out that, despite the name, Lester was a woman, and was thus a trailblazer, tramping around alone by jalopy, mule, and in foot.
